1) For my second independent component I plan on exercising eveyrday to reach the 30 hour requirement.
2) I plan on doing something everyday like running, doing sotball drills, or entering in a spin class or agility speed training program. I will try to do at least 6 hours of physical activity per week to reach my goal.
3) My EQ has to do with winning a softball game, and my team will be taking a break so i need to stay in shape while everyone else is playing high school softball and the drive and determination of working hard everyday will help me improve and in turn help my team win.

Independent Component 1
Literal
a) I, Carissa Twardowski, affirm that I completed my independent component which represents 30 hours of work.
b) For my independent component I worked with closely with my coaches and teammates in practices, showcases, and softball tournaments.
Interpretive
a) Softball plays a huge part in my routine, and I'm always doing something softball related every week, whether it's practices or tournaments on the weekend. Every Tuesday I would go to batting lessons with a batting coach that I got referred to and he would teach me the different mechanics and focuses of hitting and offense. I was beginning to make more solid contact and making my way to the fourth place on the batting line-up. On Sundays if we did not have a tournament or showcase that week we would practice from 8 am to 12 pm. We would do conditioning and then transition to fielding and defense, and then wrap it up with hitting at the end. Showcases and tournaments were a majority of my weekends, and I would play first base almost every inning. Colleges would be scouting some of our games such as Fullerton, UCLA, UCR, and more. My teams' winter season was not the best season, but I learned a lot while playing, and I got a lot of review to fill in my gap from not playing for a while.
Applied
a) By playing and being involved on a team it's easier to not only see the fundamentals and structure of a team but also experience it ,and see it first hand. I was able to learn things about softball and apply them into what I do. My independent component allowed me to see coaching philosophy and technique in action being specifically tailored to my needs and preferences. Answers that I saw in my research, such as maintaining mental toughness, I was able to test out and further understand what was being introduced.
